ABOUT ME
Florence Calvez, freelance translator and teacher. I am passionate about languages, including foreign languages and my own native language. I have been working as both a translator and teacher since 2016.
I have a degree in Spanish language and literature as well as two Master’s degrees in Cultural Communication (University of Nantes, France) and in Translation (Instituto Superior de Estudios Linguisticos y de Traducción, Seville, Spain).
Thanks to my extensive professional experience, I am the ideal translator for your documents in the artistic and cultural sector. From 2008 to 2011, I worked at the Musée d’histoire urbaine in Nantes (France), which attracts an international audience. My career path then led me to Madrid, Spain, where I worked as a communications assistant at the Teatro Pradillo. In 2012, I joined the team for the first edition of the Voyage à Nantes (an artistic trail through the city), where I informed international tourists about the different artworks. Next, I participated in creating the international program at the École des Beaux-Arts Nantes Saint Nazaire. Later, I worked as a Cultural and Communications officer for the Centre Culturel Franco Espagnol, in Nantes before going freelance.
My teaching experience is also vast. I started as a French language assistant at the Escuela Oficial de Idiomas de Lugo (Spain) in 2007-2008, a role I held again in 2013-2014 in a secondary school in Cardiff (United Kingdom). I also taught Spanish and English as a private tutor for teenagers aged 14 to 19 years old. I am now a professor in several engineering and business schools.
